About IKEM
IKEM is the industry and employers’ organisation for Sweden’s innovation and chemical companies. We negotiate collective agreements with the unions, provide expert advisory services, and advocate for policies that strengthen industrial competitiveness and enable the green transition.
Representing some 1,200 companies with 70,000 employees, our members operate in chemicals, plastics, pharmaceuticals, refineries, biochemistry, bioengineering, and recycling, among others. With offices across Sweden and in Brussels, we support our members both nationally and internationally.
As part of the Confederation of Swedish Enterprise (Svenskt Näringsliv) and global organisations like Cefic, ECEG, FECC and EuPC, we work to influence policies that drive innovation, sustainable growth, and investment.
Our members’ expertise fuels clean energy, advanced medicine, and next-generation materials. Many are already pioneering bio-based production, shaping the future of industry.
We are a catalyst for growth, helping Swedish companies expand globally and attracting foreign investment to Sweden. Innovation, sustainability, and global competitiveness define our mission—driving progress for industry, society, and the planet.
